Worlds ApartDetails
Cantata Singers’ season concludes with two cantatas by J.S. Bach and the world premiere of a new work by Richard Festinger. Cantata BWV 79, “Gott der Herr ist Sonn und Schild," begins the program with an energetic, festive magnificence, celebrating God, while Cantata BWV 78, “Jesu, der du meine Seele,” concludes with a meditative profundity. The new untitled work by Festinger is his first commission with Cantata Singers. It is supported in part by the Fromm Music Foundation.
A pre-concert talk, free to all ticketholders, will be given at 7pm in Williams Hall.
Following the performance, all are invited to attend a free post-concert reception.
